![]() Like here's a game with a bunch of force powers and none of them feel particularly satisfying to use. I get what they were going for, but the attack animation wind up of attacks and movement just doesn't feel very good. It works, but it's impossible to put up against the Outcast/Academy games and not feel how instantaneously more fluid and free using the force and wielding your sabre is. If you don't know who Kyle Katarn, the protagonist of Outcast is, he's basically the chadliest lad in classic star wars lore.Fallen Order is a bizarrely stiff game that emphasises animation priority and cinematic presentation for attacks and powers and the end result is a combat system that feels fundamentally unresponsive and rigid. The gameplay is more action oriented but it's probably some of the best star wars combat ever made. Both games have a large arsenal of guns you can use. Academy allows you to play as many different species as well as using a double blade or dual wield. You can also swap up saber combat style in both games. Each game allows you to strengthen universal powers as well as focusing on different dark or light powers. So that's 15 missions that you can do in between big storyline points in any order that span a very wide variety of planets and have you facing a wide variety of enemies. Academy has a semi linear storyline that follows certain story beats but before each of the big storyline missions there are 5 different missions that can be completed in any order of your choosing.
